Ryan Mounce

RYAN MOUNCE

Born in Santa Ana, California in 1970, Ryan Mounce graduated from Orange High School and played basketball under Loara's Ed Prange and Tustin's Richard Bossenmeyer.  He started coaching in 1990 at Orange. In his first year as a freshman coach he went 20-0. That freshman team as seniors were ranked #3 in Orange County. In 1994 Coach Mounce took two years off to concentrate on finishing his degree and pursue a career in law. He worked as a paralegal while obtaining a Political Science Degree with an emphasis in International Political Economies from California State University Fullerton in 1995. Although law was fascinating, teaching was his true calling. Coach Mounce joined the El Dorado boy's basketball staff in 1998-99 under Coach Tim Tivenen.  He was the head Varsity assistant for three successful years before taking over as the head coach in 2002. Coach Mounce has now been the head coach longer than any other coach in ED Basketball history.
